So i brought my first dslr kit is below on what i got , remember this is my starter kit so its just to get use to all the settings since im coming from a 8 year old cybershot 5.0mb

Nikon D40x ( 300 Shutter Count )
Nikkor 18-55 lens
3 x 2GB cards
Battery Grip
Eye Cap


Any comments on a new lens i could buy ? atm ill just be taking photos of the park/gardens , pets , people and street

i was thinking around 1k , i dont want to spent to much but i want a good lens it will be staying on the D40x and ill be getting new FX lens for my D700 when i buy the camera

if you can go WIDE,shots with this type of lens are cool,had one for my canon and luved it,now i have gone to the dark side(nikon)

Lol yeh i was all set to buy canon a few months ago but then Haim came along lol

Just want a decent lens the is within budget and wont just limit me to one shooting style

A tamron 28-75 f2.8 is a great lens, sharp from corner to corner, and not a huge beast of a lens.

learnt alot in the last 2 days , had my camera for about 2 days now and i already have about 1500 pictures :/

hahaha, very nice, have you gone through and viewd them all on the PC, can take even longer than taking the pictures lol

haha yeah editing raw is hard as i am still on a single core pc so when i come back from my holiday i will be building a new pc
