These photos are an attempt at converting colour images to black and white as well as using the light to create a mood. I prefer #1 over #2 as I think the shadow over her eye is distracting.

I use a fujifilm finepix F480 Point and shoot and I used the landscape setting on Manual.

Any comments or tips (be direct, I have no idea on portrait photography):confused:

Overall, the exposure seems fine, but the eye-shadows in No 1 are too strong. I'd suggest a reflector or a fill-flash. Her facial expression looks very severe.

Yes I need to look at reducing shadows around the eyes. My daughter is mostly a happy go lucky child who usually makes funny faces when I photograph her, this time I managed to capture some more serious photos.
