Well, almost Wednesday...
So tonight I went out to take some night bokeh shots. Coincidently, the theme of the latest photo competition (http://www.photographersonline.co.nz/showthread.php?t=820).
These shots pretty much took like 1 min to setup. My conclusion is that these kind of night bokeh shots are easy to achieve if you have a fast lens. No skill needed, just set the camera to the lowest f-stop the lens can go, set shutter speed to 1/10 or thereabouts and ISO around 400 to soak in some light, put the throw it out of focus and you're ready to go snapping. No tripod needed either! Also, you will notice your sensor dust if you have dirty sensor (like mine, but I just cloned them out in Photoshop).
Of couse the skill of bokeh photography is to obviously have a subject and also to use the bokeh and light to make some cool patterns. So search around for some interesting sources of light and pattern.
That's just my interpretation anyway :)
Pics taken tonight. Can anyone guess where in Auckland I took these? :D
