Neutral density (ND) filters:

ND filters allow you use a longer shutter speed by reducing the amount of light that is let into the camera. A long shutter speed gives the dreamy effect with water and clouds as they move over the time the exposure is taken.

A GND filter is a graduated neutral density filter, which has about half dark and the other half clear, so you can use it to effectively darken the sky so that it can be exposed for correctly at the same time as the ground.

Fokker & Cory:

Thanks to you both....

Cory, I was wondering will you share how long you had your long exposure set to take such wonderful pictures? If that's ok with you.

Many Thanks
Jacky
