I have never used lightroom. Can someone tell me why everyone doesn't just use photoshop?
Is it just a "oh it's specifically for photographs" kinda thing? Or does it actually act differently and give you results that photoshop couldn't?

Devo: Try it. It's an end-to-end workflow solution and the changes to the photo are non-destructive (ie, EVERY change can be backed out right back to importing the file into Lightroom), unlike Photoshop.
Includes everything from downloading the photos off your card into libraries, maintaining metadata, photo retouching, meta-collections, exporting (for other use), printing, creation - and management - of web galleries, and I've probably missed quite a few features. And if you fancy yourself a bit of a whiz at the LUA programming language, it's amazingly extensible (and there's lots of add-ons etc out there, often for free).

I run Lightroom on my iMac. Hardly ever open Photoshop unless I'm trying to do something specifically creative with a phot.

I used lightroom big time for batch processing motorspot photos, something you cant do so well in photoshop

I've been using it for a wee while no, I find it pulls a lot more detail out of the D300, but there is no luminance noise processing at all at the moment. I kinda like it though - the D300 has really nice grain anyway so might end up leaveing it as is!
Besides that the only noticable diff for me is the import dialog and I'm playing with the flikr sync also.

I use Lightroom 3.2. I use it exclusively for all my PP. I have Photoshop CS5 but to be honest I find it a little unwieldy compared to Lightroom.
