hi guys,
just after a bit of advice.
im looking for a 50mm lens for the canon,
is the MACRO 50mm F2.8 EX DG
is this still a good lens for landscape even though its macro?
or will i be better off with the conon 50mm F/1.8 II
( http://www.canon.co.nz/products/visual/cameras_lenses_accessories/standard_lenses/ef50mmF18ii.aspx )
cheers guys

L series, ok will have to remeber that.
im actually really liking the 50d, one thing i found i dont like is the auto focus in live view, you have to push the AF button then take the picture once its done its thing.
its quailty at higher ISO's is much better than that of the sony,
and its easy to change the settings with the little controls on the back via the LCD.
so overall i very happy :)
and if the sony ever sells i would like to buy the sigma APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM (http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3347&navigator=3) which will make me happier :)

hey guys, few 'fisheye' lens questions.
how effective are they on a canon 50D, as it has a crop sensor?
what is the difference between a Diagonal fisheye and a circular fisheye?
i didnt want to start another new thread, ild have lots of annoying ones if i did that all the time :)
cheers :)

Hello,
I'm also looking for a 50mm prime for my Canon. Looking at the Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM (http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/sigma_50_1p4_c16/). Can anyone suggest a good place to pick one of these up in NZ?

The diagonal one is 180 degress from the corners, much like the measurement of tvs, circular fisheye you get a circualer area exposed and you have to crop out .
Regarding the difference between the Canon and sigma 15mm fisheyes , i have used both and i cant see any difference in image quality at all. The price is cheaper if you go for the sigma new compared to the canon.
I think i saw a Canon fisheye on trademe for a good price.

i got the sigma 10-20 f/3.5 wide angle in the end :)
