has anyone used any of the adapters you see on trademe/ebay?

Im looking at a m42-EF mount, but am sceptical of the quality of the material and craftmanship. WOuld prefer the focus confirmation type like : http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Camera-accessories/Lenses/Canon/auction-244429072.htm as my D60 (Canon, not the newer Nikon) cant take a split-prism screen as far as i know.

Any advice would be apprecited

I have a FD to Ef converter, with an element to give me infinity focus, it is good but i loss light due to the element, but image quality and price of lens is good.
I also have a M42 to EF adapter without focus confirmation. When used on some cameras errors were occurring all the time, but this was fixed by google and a file.
