Older Camera Repairs?

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that can service older lenses and film cameras.

Have been told by pretty much any camera dealer that I should forget it - cheaper to buy a replacement, plus there is no-one that would actually do the work. Problem is the camera is sentimental, and I dont really want to consign it to being a paperweight
