John does Auckland wide. He used to allow pick ups, not sure if he still does.
He is also on Trademe under the name Johnchalmers.

Cool stuff. I've heard some good things about Progear but haven't managed to pop down to the shop. Going to go when I need something (and probably walk out with a very empty wallet :D)

Just thought you should add these to your list:
Expert Infotech NZ
http://www.e-info.co.nz

Expert Infotech AU
http://www.einfotech.com.au/

great if you have relatives in Aus, get it shipped to them and pick it up, works out way cheaper than buying off their NZ site.

My experiences with Expert Infotech: AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

If you don't mind 1) Absolutely zero after-sales support (well not if they can help it) and 2) Things not actually in-stock when they say they are (and often taking several weeks, sometimes months, maybe even never actually bother to order... to actually be stocked then sent to you) then you're fine - the prices ARE fairly cheap - but personally I wouldn't buy anything off them that I couldn't afford to lose the money.

No idea what the Aussie outfit is like, but if they're affiliated to the NZ one, I wouldn't trust them.

I've dealt with Expert Infotech a number of times and had no problems at all. I haven't had to try their after sales service though. I guess that is the real test of how good they are.

my workmate just purchased a nikon d90 from them. camera arrived after 2 days of payment being made.

although was disappointed to see that the charger was not for NZ, had to use an adaptor, although provide. the manual looked like a photocopy and stapled in the middle.

my only experience is buying a canon 50mm lens from them, was quick so thought that was good service.

Camera Shop
http://www.camera-shop.co.nz/
This is on-line site run by TradeMe user Mark_b.
Like John Thomson, already listed, he has some bits and pieces that will be handy in many cases.
I had a good trade experience. Very quick delivery.

A web site i seem to end up time and time again...
http://www.kenrockwell.com/index.htm
The guys is very Nikon sided to say the least - suits me fine as i currently use one of them. Site itself is a bit messy but i find his review very thorough and practical.
What do you guys think?

Hi all, we run www.photosales.co.nz (http://www.photosales.co.nz/) and offer Kiwi photographers a place to display and sell their photos online.

We have 3 different memberships available, free, normal and premium. Details on these are available at:
http://www.photosales.co.nz/photographer_signup.php

PhotoSales also offer event photographers disounted premium membership, and gallery creation and skinning for their events. We handle all the printing, shipping and payment side of things, and that leaves you to carry on shooting photos.

Anyway, pop past, see what you think, we are always trying to improve the site.

Your photo sales site looks very good, I was a bit taken aback that you do not accept memberships from other countries. I have a lot of NZ photos, and do hope to move over one day, I'd love to have been able to join.

Hi there, if you have NZ Photos to upload, that is fine to join, just drop us an email to let us know, as they are the most common photos we have on there.

Focal Holdings the Photographic distributor has a new website which is quite useful www.focal.co.nz (http://www.focal.co.nz) there is a good amount of information about Kata bags amonst other accessories including specialized albums designed for wedding photographers

---------- Post added at 11:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 PM ----------

Also Jada Products www.jadaproducts.co.nz (http://www.jadaproducts.co.nz) is another website to check out, they are the distributor for several brands including Naneu bags, Hahnel remotes, Camelion batteries, Memory Kick, Adata memory. I've never had to deal with 1). Had a great experience with 2); I went to get my Tammy 17-50 VC on a Wednesday, but someone grabbed the last EF mount literally 10 minutes before I went in. They got one in for me coming Monday, and went to the trouble of calling me to tell me that it did. I think the trick is to visit the premises in person.

John Thomson Photography (http://store.johnthomson.co.nz/home.php) is great to deal with for those small nick-nacks (lens hoods, body caps, etc etc) nobody seems to stock. Also trades on TM as johnchalmers, but I'd deal with him personally through email, phone, or physically at his shop in Remuera. Awesome service.

We are always looking for new photographers and images to sell in our postcard range.
Pikitia Postcards - New Zealand Postcards and Photography (http://www.pikitia.co.nz/)

Also http://www.photonewzealand.co.nz/ is a good stock library and I can also confirm that John does deliver outside Auckland as we've order products from here in Tauranga. :-)

Cheers Smurff,

A lot of the bird images are by a fantastic wildlife photographer and conservationist based in Christchurch called Jonathan Harrod. Check out his blog at http://jonathanharrodphotography.blogspot.com/ ... He has some amazing stuff on there.
