Although Ken Rockwell (http://www.kenrockwell.com/) sounds like a total goof, and well reknown to have a bias towards Nikon, this video is a great walkaround of the B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/)New York Superstore. If im going to New York, I'm definately paying B&H Photo a visit! The store is massive! Anyone here been?

Ken aside, we'd be happy to have you visit. Our SuperStore online (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/HelpCenter/NYSuperStore08.jsp).

by now Ken will have followed the links back to this thread, like B & H and is probably shedding a tear. Shame on you for calling him a goof talan. hahaha.

Haha *runs and hides*

Actually B&H approached us to do some advertising, but since there was no benefit to our members, we declined (Y)

Your call, and I'm not suggesting you made the wrong choice, but the benefit to the members of the site becoming a B&H affiliate is revenue for the site, which contributes to keeping it up and running and making improvements from time to time.

Your call of course and we respect your decision either way.

Henry, the point im trying to make is that we are not going to be an affiliate partner for a retailer unless they give members on these forum benefits e.g. member's discount, free shipping, etc.

Sure, it would be great to get some revenue to keep the site running as the site is paid by myself and David out of our own pockets. But we're happy to keep doing that rather than clutter the website with advertising (looks at other websites ).

What Would Ken Do?
He would probably beat me with a stick. Actually, no disrespect to Ken. Im sure he is very insightful and well know in the online photography community. It would be good if he popped in and said hi. (Prays for his Google Alert to pick this up :))

Certainly. I understand completely. If the situation on your end ever changes, the offer stands. In the meantime, if we can find some way to benefit the members of the forums we frequent and retain the profitability we need to operate we won't be shy.

For sure Henry, I know you guys are a business, and not a charity. And during these tough economic times, need as many sales as you can.

Cheers
Talan

I just want to say it's good to have you involved on this site, even if it's only as a posting member. I buy 90% of my film from you (no one on this country stocks the range and quantity of 4x5 you do) so it's great to have your presence around here.
