Major Canon announcement

I was shocked to see Canon are bringing out three new lenses, despite the current climate:

The one that interests me is this one:

The EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens could very well be the essential multipurpose lens for every camera bag due to its ability to capture sharp close-up images of small objects as well as beautiful portrait-length telephoto shots. The incorporation of Canon's new Hybrid IS in this L-series macro lens allows it to compensate more effectively for camera shake during close-up shooting and marks a significant improvement for professionals and advanced amateurs utilizing macro photography for portrait, nature or wedding shoots.

The price tag will be $1049 USD and will be in production end of September. It seems amazing with the hybrid IS. Can't wait for reviews.......... My question is this: IS THIS BETTER THAN THE 135mm f2L ?????

yeap the released these last week! the 100mm macro is an awesome lens, this can only be better, and yes its going to be as good as the 135L

haha, they reckon it will go down, then up, once people realise there's no difference between them aside IS. Personally I think IS is worth it especially the problems with MACRO handheld. Good point though; let's see!

Hmm thats a fair call, time will tell guess. Hopefully i can get in while they are in there cheap period :D
