Trying out Talan's wireless triggered flash last night, thanks Talan! :D

nice I like the second photograph. nice work. keep on practicing and experimenting. I so wanna flash with wireless trigger $$$$ is low tho

I think they are a touch dark. We are strobist noobs. Better results next time for sure.

Used Cactus V4 wireless trigger and Cactus KF36 flash. Ooh which reminds me i must write a review!

Pretty sweet for a first go!!

Try filtering the light through an umbrella or reflector to soften the harshness of the shadows.

Also - OCF can look really sweet if you can include some of the ambient light - so if you're shooting at night, rather than shoot at high power on the flash @ f8 or so, try turning the power down on the flash to the minimum, shooting wide open at a higher ISO, and open up the shutter speed to let in some ambient light.

The 2nd shot is the best of these ones :)

I think it could be cool to include an element of where the light "might" be coming from... for example, if you're going to light your subject from up high, try getting them under a streetlight & including it in the shot - so it appears as if the light could be coming from there
