Anyone else here like to try their hand at macro??

Just trying to get back into it, here are some results from the last couple of days.

Canon 400D + mp-e 65 + either 580ex or 430ex(shown)

and a Tamron 90mm macro

wow those are stunningly close!!

I have seen some photographs this close but not many and not as good as yours

I have never seen an ant in such detail. Amazing work

If you move in slowly you can get quite close to them.
These aren't great shots though, but I'm getting back into it.

It's not too bad, once you get used to it, and either off camera flash or the dedicated flash attached to the lens are essential.

Just need good eye and steady hand.

I guess one of the hardest parts is sometimes finding the target and not scaring it off. No autofocus and being at a minimum of 1:1 does present a challenge, but the rewards are worth it.

Here's a few of mine.. Up to a max magnification of 1.7:1

Not as clear as i'd like, i'm only using reversed lenses and extension tubes with a 50mm 1.8

Just showing you that you don't need anything expensive to get some decent results :)
