hey man nice shots but you might want to try some thing different... most of your cars shoots come out similar. not saying thats bad, cause the images are very sharp and nice :)

Nice creamy bokeh on that lens (Y)

What was the lighting setup? I'm guessing from the specular highlights it's ambient from the overhead fluros + a (maybe colour-corrected?) speedlight in some kind of soft-box or dialed right down (or bounced?) on or below the camera.

Something missing from the composition of the 3rd one: If you're going to centre the subject, try centering the background too - having the columns marching back + no yellow wall to the left would have looked mint if you could manage it.

cheers man, trust me i have. everyday i am thinkin new ideas and different locations for my car shoots, and i have been doing quite a varities of shots for the past few month but most are for the pay jobs which i won't be posting until they got publish.

for the amount of cars i have been doing over the past few months, i am really runnin out of ideas so for my own non paid pics i tried to keep them all the same so i can have fresh ideas when i need them :p

hey robo git,

lighting setup?? hehe there was none, but you were correct the highlight you see were from the overhead fluros. the shot was kind of a quicky been 2am in the morning. as i just want some pics for my new car plus another excuse to use the new lens.

ya i agree with you on the 3rd one, the main problem was the ground/floor wasn't really flat/balance with the background. i could have done a mirror image in ps but it would take a bit of time to perfect it so i just left it as was. cheers for the comment.

Hey nice new car and nice lens! I saw this car maybe 30min ago driving down Ti Rakau followed by a blue Accord with big wing. You didn't just shoot that did you? :p

Were these shot handheld? They look pretty sharp to me :D

it might be me, but idea on what's the car behind me.

1st, 3rd were on tripod.
2nd shot wasn't handheld but wasn't on tripod either, i had it lying on the ground.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, it must especially be tough for you since you do shoot so many cars. At least doing that, you have filtered through the compositions which look good, which I'm probably going to steal :D

Sweet car, better than my family wagon

Regarding the images,
i find in the first the background is to cluttered, or the placement of the large pillar behind the car seems to hinder the image.
The second is sweet.
The third, i really like this too but id crop the sides in a bit to get rid of the yellow to the left of the car, it draws my eye in,as the rest of the image is basically monotone .
