Pics from a gig

Hey, I took some photos at my mate's band's gig and then edited them slightly in terms of colour and contrast. What do you think? Also, what are your guys views on photo manipulation - funky or not-authentic?

What's the band's name?

I like the first and second pic.

The b/w conversion adds a grungy (sp) feel to it.

I like how the second photo conveys some movement of those rockers :)

Liking the first photo, really shows a good contrast between the gat and strings, must be brand new strings! i hope they don't have blisters on their fingers :D

Thanks guys! The band is called Zero. They have some songs up on http://myspace.com/zeronewzealand. Yea their fingers are pretty tough now hehe.

Hey,

The 1st 2 photos are interesting coz it's a bit abstract in a way. Photoshopping is always fun. Depending on what you want to achieve and the purpose of the photo but manipulating photos is all good. I just hate wedding photos that are overly photoshopped. That's my opinion.

I've never taken any photos at concerts but i believe the key is to either have a good external flash or to have a fast lense with low apeture. You really need that for fast shutter speeds so your photos aren't blurry or underexposed.
