We had to take six pictures in one "centre" to illustrate our local towns "spirt" to someone who would possibly want to go there for our photo course.
Thought I might post them up for comments.

I think you should have gone at night time as well, looks like a bit of a ghost town there.
Im not sure what 5 is trying to show. Pretty pedestrian shot of the square from face height. Feels very point and shoot, also the background is hella busy, woulda been good to get up a bit higher maybe so you could cut out the buildings that surround. Your also not doing yourself any favours with the overcast light heh.
6 I like. 4 is a nice idea but could have been executed a bit nicer, focus missed the girls and got the statue.
3. Could have done with a human element (think like teenages sitting with their backs on the pillar thing or something), or shooting from a different angle. All your shots bar 6 were taken fromt face height just standing there. Try getting low and getting some angles on to make the wide angle work for you.
2. Is nice enough, not sure what aspect of spirit it is trying to convey. You can get some nice shots at night in this spot, people wlking home from town through there and the lighting is really cool.
1. I'm not entirely sure what an empty restaurant is supposed to convey. I know palmy has the highest number of restaurants per capitia in NZ but would a night shot through a window of people enjoying their night have been far more powerful in conveying this image?
I feel in general that this was pretty half assed, just rocked up at middayish and shot a couple of pics in the square, 6 seems to be the only one with some thought go into it. With a bit more effort this could be a pretty cool topic.
