i did this one as a long exposure... i didnt have my bloody tripod so had to balance the camera on my phone... haha was sooooooo unstable...

Nikon D700 With SB-900 shooting onto a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G SB-600 Shooting from floor on "N" Lens used to shoot on D700 is Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G Lens magnifying the "N" is a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D

i went out with David to take some phtos last night... got back home at like 5am... woah... was i tired... haha

well, i just got another 3 new lenses,

They happen to be a result of Davids very bad influence. Once i used, and saw and felt his new 35mm lens i just had to have one too!!!

They are the extremely expensive Carl Zeiss (https://photo-shop.zeiss.com/en/Categories/Objektive/ZF) lenses.
The ones i got are:

Carl Zeiss 85mm f/1.4
Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.4
Carl zeiss 35mm F/2

The photo i took was with the 85mm... my new most favourite lens, even over the 14-24!!!

Been out shootinglast night.... did some light painting... didnt come out that cool... but one of my friends brother which is doing photography at school was out with me and another dude.... any way... i always find myself ending up trying to take photos of the pople who come out with me to take photos hahaha....

any way.... here is one example.... i like the blue tint... so i chucked it on tungstan white balance...

there are some real long exposures there... around 20 to 30min.... those are the ones with the wharf and star trail .... love it.

Thats a good effect, i guess that's why it turns out lighter than the night sky? ill have a look, maybe i can try this with my 450d - i did some night photography tonight but i was just using the P setting with 400 iso so shutter speed was automatic.

WOW! dont-do-that! haha

just use either Manual mode or Arpetudre priority.... that's the one you should use! iso should be at its lowest.... i think you should never really use P mode unless you give your camera for someone to photograph yourself!

hahaha yeah, i think i was just being lazy. Was getting annoyed as it is a bit windy outside and couldn't keep the tripod still because it's too light... im going to get a nice one as soon as i can!

hmmmm get one from photowarehouse ,,,,, mine is only 150 bux and still works. one days i'll upgrade to a manfrotto but yeah this one is all good.!

I see you have the best wide lens on the market at the moment 14-24.
I looked at getting 1 and a adapter for canon mount. It would have allowed forcus conformation but not auto focus.

I tryed it on a D700 a while back. Also tryed a 14mm F2.8 Canon prime as well. Came to the conclusion 17mm is wide enough for landscapes as I hate distortion.
