Canon 50D Body

Hi there,

New to this website but have been lurking these forums for a short while!

Anyway, just wanted to put the word out that I am looking for a Canon 50D at the moment. Body only preferred, but will consider all that is available. Must be in good condition, reasonable shutter count etc.

Thanks guys! Were a couple on Trademe, and two on Sella that I'm keeping my eye on. Also put my name down at the local store in case someone trades a decent body in! Something will work out!

Hi everyone, found a 50D on Trademe (here (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=399526454)) that comes as a bundle with a whole lot of other bits and pieces.

This at least the second time it has been listed, first time had no bids and I see he's lowered is buy now (but not reserve) by $50.

Maybe I am being naive, but I didn't plan on paying more than $900-$1000 on a decent 50D body, so I am trying to decide whether this bundle with lens, CF cards etc. is worth the extra $500 or so.

Most importantly, what are people's thoughts on the 28-135mm lens? I see some on the internet think they are alright, others are quite reserved about them. I know it's just a kit lens, but there are some reasonable pictures up on Flickr from them. Had a search on this forum too but I found little reference to it. Anyone care to chime in with some real world experience?

Hey Paul, I had a 50d + 28-135mm combo which I purchased new from the US in March 2010. The 28-135 is an ok lens, used it a couple of times then i sold it quickly to recoup some of the cost of the 50d.

If you're interested, I have a 5d Classic body that I can bundle with a 50mm f1.8 for the same price as that 50d+28-135 that you're watching.

It's been a while since I updated this but I was fortunate enough to come across a very nice 50D a few months ago so thanks to all those who helped!
