Hi I'm new

Hi guys.
I am a kiwi and damm proud one. We live in Saudi Arabia and home for winter in 10 weeks. CANNOT wait!
I have a nikon D90, not sure on lens (gobledegook for me yet) and im learning... Slowly. I do take good shots but they are a more a fluke/artistic eye with no real thought of photography lol
I was looking today at doing the SIT (invercargill) dip in digital photography but i just read a experienced photographer say if you have a discipline to do online you can teach yourself.
I read you have to read the manual twice... I cant read it without a dictionary so havent read it yet lol
So hope to learn alot from you all. My aspirations... make it my full time hobby/part time employment??? I get alot of joy from a decent shot. I have 3 small children so they are my main job :)

im looking to do the SIT diploma in photography, i will be doing it via correspondence, just have to put some time aside every week to get it done :)

You can learn lots on line, but nothing beats some hand on experience. So I'd recommend doing a course as well!

However, different people learn in different ways so you go to with what works best for you.
