I'm very new to photography but as I'm spending more time in the mountains (I make skis for a living) I'm enjoying (trying) to take good photos.
These were taken with my sony A700 with 18-250 lens.

Battery life is one of the few down points with the A700 but with the battery grip and and drive on High (5fs) raw files still I get good performance at altitude but do carry the camera in an insulated bag inside my ruck sack.
A mate was using a D2X without the insulated bag and it makes a massive difference to battery performance.

Thanks thirdkid. The A700 is my first DSLR and I started in December 08.

Sweet shots! Try setting your camera exposure to over-expose by 0.7 and the snow will look pure white.

I run a site with a ton of articles on shooting skiing, check it out: Action Photo School (http://www.actionphotoschool.com)
