Great, I want to see what these shots look like in colour! :) yeah it would be better to zoom right up on the moon to full the frame, you might catch a glimpse of the cheese man who lives on the moon...

hehe i am saving the colour ones for other purpose :)

ya i wished i could, the shot was done with the 80-200 f2.8 at 200 end and cropd in quite a bit (about 3x) after the photo, to fill the moon right up, you probably need a 600 f4 +2x teleconverter, which is kinda like a $20k combo.

for the moon? or the beach? the beach was about 5-6 mins, the moon was 1/200 from memory.

beach shots were done with 24-70 f2.8, moon 80-200 f2.8, camera was Nikon d700, but it shouldn't matter with any camera, you can get this kind of pics with any camera and lens + shutter release cable.

was around 1-2am.
