Bye, bye kit lens. I've decided to expand my kit and start getting together a set of primes, so I thought I would start a topic where I can post shots of and from my new glass.

Feel free to post you own stuff, and any advice on what I should buy next would be appreciated.

Note: For now I am shooting on my D60 with DX sensor so my focal lengths are scaled up (x1.5-ish) and I'm purely manual focus. But I'm cool with that, for now I'll buy the wider lenses and when I do go FX I can extend into the longer stuff :) -well that's the plan.

The first set below are with my Nikkor AF 28mm 1:2.8 D (pictured). She's fresh from trademe, 4 years old and in nice condition. Here are a few shots from mucking around with it this weekend. Remember it's effectively a 42mm.

Coming in the mail next is a Nikkor AF 35mm 1:2.0 D, I'll post some shots when I've had a play later this week.

Looking forward to you comments/advice :)

You've begun well. I've got a battery of Pentax primes, which still get a lot of use.

I presume you are a Canon man Stan? I got a pair of Pentax primes passed on to me a few days ago but having looked into it they can't be adapted onto the Nikon mounts :(.

It is good to know also that, in buying Nikon primes, if I do decide to shift to Canon one day then adapting them is simpler than going the other way.

My Nikkor AF 35mm 1:2 D has arrived :)

Here are few shots from testing it today. -Remember it's effectively about 53-55mm on DX.

Very nice shot Haim. I don't think I'll go into the longer primes... Maybe get a 70-200mm. But stick to primes for the wider stuff, might make things a little less expensive...

Update-

Here are some more shots I took over the weekend using the 35mm:

Not on your life; I've been a Pentax user for over fifty years, and I'm not changing now. And I won't be parting with the lenses.
