This thread is dedicated to posting your favorite photographers and hopefully in the process we'll find some new favorites in which we can draw inspiration and motivation from.

For each artist you post please post a link and at least one photo of theirs.

Hey welcome to the forums!

Your first favourite photographers photos are really random like OOF but they kinda intrigue me.

To be honest for me I only have a few favourite automotive photographers. Im trying to get away from automotive to expand my horizons so to speak but to me every photographer no matter if they are famous or not can produce some pretty spectacular work.

But since you asked, I will post a couple of my favourite automotive photographers.

Easton Chang http://www.eastonchang.com/ - click through for wallpaper size.

A young kiwi photog whose work I've always admired is James Watkins. Think he's about 24? Anyways his website has such a wide range of photos including some really cool street art, I like his style. The colours are always gorgeous.

Hmm probably 25, he went to the same school as me but was older.

I love Jasmine Star http://jasmine-star.com/ Love reading her blog and her tips.
I like the video spiel on her website (Y)

Edit: Actually looking through her website, she is definately good at building a strong connection with visitors on her website. Very good e-marketing on that part. I guess that is part of her success.

Leibovitz is great, tho she's gotten very showy over the last few years - her earlier-to-middle stuff is superb, and the later work is still fabulous but very OTT. Check out the doco Life Thru A Lens - well worth doing.

My absolute fave is Diane Arbus. Even though a lot of her work can be mediocre to poor, when she nails it, she totally nails it. And I absolutely love her quote, which in so many ways sums up what I like to achieve with my own work - "I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them."

I love that she really went out of her way to take photos of the people nobody else would have been likely to, and her very direct, confrontational style. While you could argue that she mostly took ugly photos of ugly people - and often technically quite poor ones - the results intrigue me. I certainly don't feel any urge to take on her style, but I'm very down with her intentions, and I have to some degree been influenced in that I have a fondness for high contrast closeup portraits, to the point of deliberately over-exposing so I have room to push up the shadows and the result is quite Arbus-esque.
