had a pretty full on product shot today, it was pretty fun but turned out much tired than i thought. (tips for next time, prepare a decent chair and decent height table)

nice and clear shots..for some reason im getting attracted to the first shot
cheers, ya i like the first shot a lot myself.
i offered the client 2 options; either i use proper lighting, and get them look right in the first place, or i could use a cheapish lightbox and clear cut products in photoshop, at the end we both agreed the proper lighting ones look much better, and items look more real with the surround shadow.

yeah..shadows do alot for items IMO..doesnt make it seem like their just floating..you still got a pic of the other light option you did?

You can't beat proper lighting and doing it right the first time.
These look really good, and very well done :)

woops :o didn't even notice that. good spot, it was indeed the softbox.

yes haim they were for adam, the final drive kit came with both the counter shaft and gear, and i couldn't put them together in a more arty way :D.

i didn't take any setup shot for this, it was so tired at the end of the day but i might try takin some next time. set up is quite tricky, and depends on the items(reflective surface, different sizes, shape etc) it can vary quite a bit. i used only one bowen + 1.2m x 0.9m softbox + a big reflector most of time. tried to keep it simple so i could move fast.
what background you used? did you buy a special product thingy or a home made one? i know what you used to take the photo with ( the lightting part) just want to see/ know what background....
yeah man... he really needed those photos as his other photos of his products came out nasty....
the backgroud? lol it's my top secrect:D:D
oh well, only becoz you asked. i used a normal white A2 drawing paper (my sis is an architec so got heaps of wasted ones lying around), with the d700 on auto white balance. can't be more simple than that :)
yeah bro... i knew it lol.... i use pretty much the same shit lol
