I am looking at purchasing my first DSLR camera and was wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice? I know absolutely nothing about dslr camera's or how they work hence the username. I am starting a photography course and need the camera in order to start.
Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks:D

What is your budget?

Also, what is your reason for doing the course? Are you wanting to become a professional photographer, or is it going to be a hobby?

Buy something cheap off trademe - by the time you outgrow an older model camera you will have a better idea of what you want in a newer one.
I have a canon 400d with a battery grip and 50mm prime lens that I'm selling soon if you're interested in that, its ideal for a learners camera and the 50mm lens is not only a great little lens but because it doesn't zoom it forces you to think harder about how you compose your shots, perfect for learning on.
