Hey guys,
My mate just picked up a Canon 40D but she is having problems atm. When she is shooting, the LCD screen is blank and not showing any options or anything. But when she presses the menu button, it works and reviewing photos works too.
Please help.

i have a 40d, that is an option that can be displayed on the rear lcd, but i never use it. all the important info is displayed on the top screen and this is the screen i use when setting up for a shot.

don't you press the 'play' button to view photos?
and when you say LCD, you're taking about the big 2.5" display right? not the top panel?
