Anyone, done any of the Raffles photography courses? I'm tossing up between their short course in photography and the one from the Photography Institute. I can see a few comments on the Photography Institute in the seperate thread but would love to hear from anyone who has done or is doing the Raffles one.

I had dismissed the one with th Photography Institute because of it being 100% correspondence and I felt more trust with a face to face thing and felt Raffles might provide better education being able to point things out better than doing somethign on a screen.

Any thoughts would be great. Plus if anyone has done a course somewhere else that they recommend. I work full time so it has to be weekend/night school and I don't want something that is mainly focussed on the use of the camera - I can read the manual for that

(And yes, I've thought about cost vs just getting out there and doing it).

I thought I would reply to my own post incase anyone is wondering the same as I was (some people had asked the same question as me on forums but noone ever went back and commented if they had proceeded with something).
I enrolled in the raffles course. Only a couple of weeks in to it but am really enjoying it and have definately learnt a fair bit already so really happy with my choice.

Here we go Smurf LINK (http://shortcourses.raffles.ac.nz/programmes/short-courses/photography.aspx)

As for the course's imo a waste of time unless your going to get a qualification out of it but nowadays that don't mean anything if you cant produce a outstanding Portfolio

You can pretty much learn anything that are in the courses for free from internet / library

Hello,
I was wondering what Raffles course you are doing and how you are finding it? I have basic knowledge of digital photography - I have a Canon 400D and can use it on manual but want to progress my photography as would love to go professional one day. So need to fill in the gaps on the technical aspects and also am a complete beginner on photoshop. Was looking at Raffles courses but no idea which one I would go for. Almost need to do Photography 1 and 2 then a Photoshop course but that all adds up to quite a lot of money! I would be interested to know your experience.
Thanks
