Hi guys,

Just thought I will give it a try on this forum. I am looking for a part time photography assistant as my current assistant has been a little busy with his uni work.

I am a freelance commercial/editorial photographer mainly focus on cars but also do wedding, portrait, and events from time to time. I have also recently became a regular contributor to the New Zealand Performance Car magazine so if you like cars this would be an interesting job for you.

This position is part-time as mentioned earlier, however, a lot of photoshoots are happening during weekends so your availabilities during weekend and holidays are important.

As a photography assistant, you will need to have some sort of knowledge in photography(not vital), but a strong interests in photography, keen to learn and can do attitudes are essential. You will be coming to a lot of on-location photoshoots, meeting people from different fields of trade, occasionally liaison with magazine editors and advertising agencies, shooting behind the scene photos, and most importantly handling/setting up of my photography and lighting equipments. As this aspect, I am looking for someone who is trustworthy and willing to build a long term business partnership.

You won't be paid for the first few photoshoots while you are learning the basics but after that we will certainly discuss payments for your time. My current assistant has been with me for a little over 2 years now and on average he gets $20-25/hr cash in hand depends on the job.

If this sounds like the type of stuff you want to get into please pm or email me at d.fan@xtra.co.nz. Please include a short introduction of yourself and your photography experience, a few photos that you have taken recently will be nice too.
