there's really no set list as most of the time it depends on the location and venue.

but for the past few weddings, we've used:
all canon lenses
-50mm f1.8
-24-105mm f4 (not long enough though!)
-17-40mm f4 (for wide shots)
-100mm f2.8 (for close up detailed shots)

ideally we'd like to go to weddings with:
-50mm f1.4
-16-35mm f2.8L
-70-200mm f2.8L
-24-105mm f4L
-100mm f2.8

Pretty much everything. Why skimp :]

Main ones:

10.5mm f2.8
18-55mm f3.5-5.6
50mm f1.8
70-200mm f2.8

next purchase: 30mm f1.4

one wide angle or a fisheye, a 24-70mm f2.8 and a 70-200mm with an extender.

If I could only have only one lens, I'd probably go for my 24-105mm.

For the few weddings that I have done I have mainly used my 17-55 and my 70-200, although hard on the back and shoulders I use two camera bodies so that I can use either one quickly.

I have my prime 50mm 1.8 on hand, and always plan to use it - but hardly ever end up using it - everything moves so fast that I just end up using the two cameras without switching lenses.

A fisheye is on my wish list, and I think I will get one for the next wedding.

Ive read that 24-70 f2.8 to be the most preferred, that and the 70-200mm f2.8 IS. and yeah Fisheye would be highly recommended,

I'm assuming that most of these are crop-sensors, and not full-frames? Just trying to get my head around the 1.6x focal length thing.
