are you selling one?
i been watching the prices on them on trademe cheapest i saw at the reserved is $2200.00
i was just down at Photo Warehouse today in Wellington to get a 50mm F1.8 II and had a look at the new Canon 70-200mm. the price is not so bad think it was $3700 somewhere about there and I was told that the older version is discontinued now.

Looking to buy one if price of Mk I lense is reasonable.

BTW what are the improvements between MK I & II? Haven't had much time to read.

The main difference between the two, The IS is new and improved , gives about another stop in hand holding. And it is sharper than the old version.

If you dont need IS the non IS version is usually sharper.

The price of the mk 1 are still going for about $2500 +

If you are going to get the sigma, try it before you pay for it, i have had 2x 70-200f2.8s, 2x 120-300f2.8 , 2x 24-702.8 from sigma and have only been happy with one 120-300f2.8 , i found the auto focus to be inaccurate, slower and softer wide open, compared to the Canons i have used.
Saying that there primes are good, i have had or have a 15mm fisheye, 20f1.8 , 105 marco and have never had an issue with them.

If you are on a budget, keep an eye out for a Canon 80-200L they go for around 1K , they are old but sharp as tacks and the focus speed is about the same as the sigmas.

I've got a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 if you're in the market for one. Found the autofocus to be pretty good. Soft wide open at 200mm, but pretty sweet at f/4

i dont think it will change the price much at all because its still the same lens as before the II came out. if anything it will be harder to get now its discontinued.
The II also focuses (1.2m) colser that the I (1.5m) which is only handy.
