Canon Speedlite

so i already have a manual speedlite nothing fancy, just a cheapy from gadgetcity, now im looking into getting a canon 430ex,
theres a few on trademe and there prices are pretty good,
but the qusetion is, am i better off to save and get the 580ex?

ill be using it for general everyday use and could use my manual flashes as slaves, so will the 580 be worth the extra few hundred dollers?

What manual speedlite do you have already? If its not a 430 or (I think) 420ex or higher model then it won't work as a slave off the 580ex anyway.

FWIW 430ex's are pretty good little flashes, I have two and have no complaints at all. There aren't a whole heap of situations in which you'll need the extra power of a 580ex.

ok, good to hear, how acurate do you find the E-TTL on them?

oh well, was in harvey norman today, ended up buying the 430ex II

about to have a play with it now :)
