Have any of you assisted photographers before for events/shoots/studio work? I'd really love to do that for some experience, but I haven't a clue where to find contacts or such.

ild say your best bet would be the yellow pages tbh
though having asked on here may spring a pro person to offer you the chance ( who know )

Look in your local papers for photographers and then approach them directly. That way it will show them that you have the courage to perform. Make sure you assemble a portfolio to show them what you can do.

Buildabrig - where are you at with your photography? Are you wanting just to attend & take a few shots unpaid, or are you wanting some paid work?

ShutterNut - I've been into photography for about two years now. I'd say I've gone past the beginner stage. I'm probably just wanting to attend and not get paid, at this stage - I don't think that I have enough experience yet to do any paid work.

So you are competent shooting in manual, and with post-processing? I know someone who is moving to Auckland in a few months who might be able to help.

I'm okay with shooting in manual, and I have a fair bit of experience with post-processing.
That'd be great if you could possibly give me a contact if it is possible.
