Photographers Online NZ Forum - General Rules & Agreement
Essentially the rules are quite simple.
In layman's terms...
Use your common sense and be respectful to others.
To elaborate...
1. Photographers Online NZ is a community based on all aspects of photography. The purpose of the forum is to engage, empower and enlighten members through a sociable and friendly medium.
2. By registering and being a part of the Photographers Online NZ Forum, you agree to abide by the rules (both written and unwritten) and the decisions made by the owners, moderators, and supporters of Photographers Online NZ.
3. You agree, through your use of the Photographers Online NZ Forum, to never post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false, defamatory, rude, disrespectful, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene, profane, pornographic, vulgar, racially or ethnically offensive, invasive of a person's privacy, in violation of any law, etc. If it meets these criteria, or is deemed inappropriate by the Photographers Online NZ Forum owners, moderators or supporters, it will be removed without hesitation and the appropriate action taken up with offender(s). This may result in temporary or permanent membership suspension.
4. Private Messages (PM) is to allow for discreet conversations to take place between members. Please do not abuse this privilege. Solicitation, spamming, illegal activities, or harassment of any kind are strictly forbidden. Any member receiving an inappropriate private message shall report that message to a Moderator immediately for evaluation which can result in temporary or permanent membership suspension.
5. You agree to not use or register a Photographers Online NZ Forum "user name" that contains any derogatory language like that stated above.
6. You agree to not use any images that are similar in any derogatory nature like that stated above in your member avatar, signature, or other location.
7. You agree to not impersonate any person, or knowingly misrepresent your affiliation or connection to any person or organisation.
8. You agree to not register multiple times, or maintain multiply identities at the Photographers Online NZ Forum for any purpose, without express written consent from the Photographers Online NZ owners or moderators.
9. You agree to not post or upload any files, information, or links, to known legal or illegal software or media, or to any person or entity seeking to bypass any copyright laws, and/or to any person or entity engaged in the distribution of illegal copyrighted or malicious material, media, or software.
10. You agree that any content or images posted is copyrighted by their respective owners. Posting images or other content that is not your property must be marked as such, and the actual copyright holder must be noted with said content.
11. You agree that what applies to images as far as copyrights go, also applies to any other visual or written content. If you can not obtain proper permission to post, a link to its location is required. This includes copyrighted, trademarked, or patented materials, trade secrets or any other material that may violate any applicable law, or deemed so by the Photographers Online NZ Forum owners or moderators.
12. You agree to never post any spam related material, which includes pyramid schemes, chain letters, multi-level marketing schemes, solicitations, or other similar material deemed inappropriate by the Photographers Online NZ Forum owners or moderators.
13. You agree to never post or upload any content or files that may contain viruses or any similar software that may be harmful to any other person’s computer system, or any Photographers Online NZ Forum server.
14. You agree that by posting on the Photographers Online NZ Forum, you give the Photographers Online NZ owners permission to publish, maintain and store all your message content, including images, on any Photographers Online NZ Forum or server.
15. You agree that Photographers Online NZ, it's owners, moderators, or supporters are not responsible for any content posted, and shall not be held accountable for any damages resulting from the said content.
16. You agree some content posted could be “negative” or “constructive”. If the content posted do not personally attack the author or the subject, or go against any rules or guidelines stated here or in the relevant board, then the content should be considered acceptable for open discussion.
17. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of the Photographers Online NZ Forum, moderators, and supporters will be responsible for the content of any message.
18. You agree that Photographers Online NZ, it's owners, and/or its moderators can and may make modifications to any post, and at their discretion, delete or move any post or topic.
19. No commercial advertisements are permitted on the forum (including the Marketplace), or sent via Private Messages. This will be considered spam and could result in a temporary or permanent membership suspension. Private sales are deemed acceptable for the Marketplace. Commercial advertisements are only allowed after permission has been granted by Photographers Online NZ owners.
20. You agree to never sell any fictitious product or service, commit fraud, or any other activity deemed illegal on any Photographers Online NZ Forum, including the Marketplace. You are allowed to post and sell photography related items only in the Marketplace forum itself.
21. You agree that there are, may be, or will be, times when all the current rules will not cover a given incident, and you agree that the Photographers Online NZ Forum owners, moderators and supporters have the right to lock, suspend or remove any content or membership with no time delay or warning.
22. Photographers Online NZ does not share your identity or any other personal information we may have from you. However, we reserve the right to disclose your identity (or whatever information we have from you) in the event of legal action arising from any message posted, or action taken by you.
23. You agree to abide by all these general guidelines and rules to the entire Photographers Online NZ Forum. Each sub-forum may have additional restrictions, or a waiver of a general restriction, and shall be noted in that specific board.
Failure to meet any of these rules or guidelines may result in your Photographers Online NZ Forum membership being suspended temporarily or permanently. Depending on the severity, repeated offensive, or any combination of offenses, either warnings, or an immediate suspension may be issued and is at the sole discretion of the Photographers Online NZ Forum owners, moderators, or supporters.
